H1 2026 New-Type Energy Storage New Installations: 17 GW / 45 GWh

On July 30, 2026, the National Energy Administration held a press conference. As of end-June, the national construction-completed and operational new-type energy storage installation scale reached 153 million kW / 396 million kWh, up 61% YoY. This means that in H1 2026, new installations of new-type energy storage in China were 17 GW / 45 GWh, with power and energy capacity down 20% and 17% YoY, respectively.
