SMM July 29: Glencore released its 2026 H1 production report, showing self-produced copper production of 397,000 mt in H1, up 15% from 343,900 mt in the same period last year. The production increase was mainly driven by higher mining volumes and improved feed grades at its African copper operations, along with higher grades at the Antamina copper mine in Peru, partially offset by the planned closure of the Mount Isa copper mine in Australia in July 2025.
Glencore maintained its 2026 self-produced copper production guidance of 810,000–870,000 mt, and expects about 53% of full-year copper production to be released in H2. The company said improved recovery rates for primary ore and mining performance at the Collahuasi mine in H2 are expected to support sequential copper production growth. I
