[Q2 Smartphone Memory Prices Up Over 80% QoQ]

According to market memory price tracking, smartphone memory prices rose over 80% QoQ in Q2 2026. This significant increase has had a sustained structural impact on smartphone BOM costs. The BOM cost of flagship models rose nearly 50% YoY, and DRAM surpassed SoCs to become the most expensive single component in flagship smartphones. The upcoming adoption of 2nm flagship SoCs will further push up the BOM cost of flagship models. Even if OEMs raise end-user retail prices, their overall gross margin is expected to remain slightly below the level of same-generation flagship products in 2025.
