Qiya Group Accelerates Multibillion-Yuan Mining and Port Project in Côte d'Ivoire for Integrated Resource Chain

Published: Jul 29, 2026 14:18

The Qiya Group's major integrated mining and supporting port investment project in the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire is currently accelerating its implementation. Planned with an investment of tens of billions of yuan, the project integrates three major sectors—polymetallic mining, construction of a dedicated bulk cargo terminal, and ocean logistics, storage, and transportation—striving to establish a complete transnational industrial closed loop of "West Africa overseas resource base—China smelting and processing base."

The project adopts an integrated development model of captive mines and self-built professional terminals, ensuring full-chain independent and controllable operations from mining, beneficiation to storage, loading/unloading, and ocean transportation. Specifically, the self-built 200,000 mt professional bulk cargo terminal effectively avoids the high fees of external ports, while bauxite produced overseas can be directly shipped via captive ocean routes to the alumina base in Guizhou.

Proven high-grade bauxite reserves in the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire exceed 1.2 billion mt, associated with key strategic minerals including gold, manganese, iron, and rare earth. This project is based on such resource advantages, aiming to provide a stable and reliable upstream raw material supply for the Qiya Group's domestic aluminum-based new materials industry.

[ADC12 Price Daily Review: Costs Drive ADC12 Prices Higher, Demand-Side Support Limited] Today, ADC12 market quotations were raised by 100 yuan/mt overall. Driven by the synchronous rise in aluminum prices and futures, aluminum scrap procurement costs further increased. The cost side provided strong support for ADC12 prices, and most enterprises chose to raise their quotations accordingly to pass on the cost pressure.

SHFE Aluminum Prices Rise Amid US-Iran Tensions, Central China Market Sees Sluggish Transactions
Amid fluctuations in the US-Iran conflict, the night session saw SHFE aluminum prices rise. Today, traders and downstream processing enterprises in central China mainly adopted a wait-and-see stance, with low purchase willingness, leading to sluggish market transactions. Some large suppliers held prices firm and held back from selling, while smaller suppliers showed weaker resolve to hold prices, resulting in a significant divergence between quotations and transactions. Ultimately, the actual transaction price range in the central China market was around a premium -100-140 yuan/mt against the SHFE aluminum August contract, with a continued weakening trend.
