[SMM PV News] Guangxi: Beibu Gulf Port Group’s 150 MW agrivoltaic project achieves full-capacity grid connection!

Published: Jul 29, 2026 13:21

Recently, the Shanren Agrivoltaic Complementary Project in Xiangzhou County, Guangxi, has achieved full-capacity grid connection and begun generating electricity. The project was invested in and constructed by Luhai Xinneng, a subsidiary of Beibu Gulf Port Group, with China Energy Engineering Group Guangxi Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. serving as the EPC contractor.

The project is located in the hilly areas southeast of Yunjiang Town, southwest of Luoxiu Town, and northeast of Sicun Town in Xiangzhou County, Laibin City, Guangxi. The construction scale includes an AC side capacity of 112 megawatts and a DC side installed capacity of 150 megawatts. It connects to the 35 kV power distribution system of the PV step-up substation via four 35 kV voltage-level circuits.

The project adopts a comprehensive land utilization model integrating PV power generation with agricultural cultivation. Once fully connected to the grid, it is expected to deliver an annual average of over 155 million kWh of green electricity, meeting the annual electricity needs of 28,000 households. Each year, it will reduce standard coal consumption by 46,500 mt and cut carbon dioxide emissions by 127,000 mt. The ecological benefits are equivalent to planting 7 million trees, with a greening area equal to 1,000 standard football fields.

Additionally, the project will create over 200 local jobs in PV operations and maintenance, agricultural production, and environmental protection construction, achieving an organic integration of economic, social, and ecological benefits and injecting sustainable green momentum into regional development.

[SMM PV Flash] In H1, the share of new energy power generation in the Northeast power grid exceeded 35%.
From January to June, the Northeast China Power Grid's new energy power generation reached 120.6 billion kWh, surpassing 35% of the total power generation for the first time and ranking first among all regional grids in China. The maximum new energy power output hit 51.67 million kW, accounting for up to 68% of total power output and 73.9% of total electricity consumption—both record highs—signaling a breakthrough in the grid's green and low-carbon transformation. The Northeast Branch of State Grid Corporation of China mobilized four provincial-level power companies within the region to establish a special task force for advancing high-quality new energy development under the Northeast China Power Grid. The task force conducted rolling analyses of new energy accommodation conditions, refined key measures to support new energy growth, and made every effort to expand accommodation capacity. The company optimized reservoir drawdown strategies to free up generation space during the spring high-wind periods when new energy output surged. During periods of accommodation difficulty, it arranged peak-shaving operation for nuclear power units and fully utilized pumped-storage stations for pumping and energy storage power stations for charging. Market-based measures were also employed, urging new energy stations to participate in inter-provincial spot trading, expanding cross-regional transmission, and leveraging intra-regional medium- and long-term continuous trading and mutual support trading to optimize power resource allocation. Since the beginning of the year, the Northeast Branch of State Grid has facilitated the grid connection of 12.48 million kW of new energy generation capacity. The Northeast China Power Grid's total installed new energy capacity reached 140 million kW, exceeding 50% of the total, with the new energy utilization rate remaining high. Amid rapid capacity growth, this represents an "increased capacity with stable utilization rate.

[SMM PV Express] National-Level Zero-Carbon Factory Launched! PV Industry's Green Transformation Takes a Key Step Forward
Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Notice on Organizing the Development of National Zero-Carbon Factories" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice"), officially launching the construction of national zero-carbon factories. The PV industry is an advantageous industry in China's clean energy equipment manufacturing sector, providing critical equipment support for the green and low-carbon transformation of energy while facing the important task of enhancing the low-carbon level of manufacturing processes and strengthening the green competitiveness of products. Guided by the "dual carbon" goals, promoting the PV industry to accelerate the construction of national zero-carbon factories is not only a key path to adhering to the priority of energy conservation and systematically promoting deep decarbonization of the industry, but also a strategic measure to cultivate new quality productive forces and help the industrial sector achieve the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality on schedule.
