Published: Jul 28, 2026 13:35

SMM, July 28:

Lead prices rebounded and rose, but downstream battery plants' purchase willingness was subdued, and high-priced supply sources saw sluggish transactions; therefore, smelters lacked incentive to raise scrap battery purchase prices. Recycling merchants were cautious in collecting materials, fearing market volatility and holding back from selling while adopting a wait-and-see approach. Currently, circulating supply in the market was limited, and holders were waiting for higher offers. Supply and demand remained in a stalemate on both sides, and the short-term upside room for scrap batteries was limited, with the market mainly consolidating.
