[SMM Weekly Maintenance Statistics] According to SMM statistics, this week (July 25 to July 31), the hot metal impact caused by blast furnace maintenance was .....

[SMM Weekly Maintenance Statistics] According to SMM statistics, this week (July 25 to July 31), the impact from blast furnace maintenance on hot metal was 1.5678 million mt, up 140,200 mt WoW. Next week (August 1 to August 7), the impact from blast furnace maintenance on hot metal is expected to be 1.3603 million mt, down 207,500 mt WoW.

 

For building materials, this week's impact from maintenance was 781,900 mt, down 17,100 mt WoW, and next week's impact from maintenance is expected to be 789,400 mt, up 7,500 mt WoW.

 

For hot-rolled products, this week's impact from maintenance was 192,100 mt, down 17,000 mt WoW, and next week's impact is expected to be 50,100 mt, down 142,000 mt WoW.

[EU] Yesterday, higher-than-expected import tariffs exerted significant upward pressure on the European hot-rolled coil (HRC) market, strongly boosting bullish sentiment. Although current EU HRC offers edged down slightly to 810–820 USD/tonne EXW, Northwest European mills remain reluctant to take on new orders amid the traditional slow season and are firmly maintaining their pricing stance. Meanwhile, HRC offers in the Italian market held steady at 820–830 USD/tonne delivered, though overall spot trading activity remains sluggish.

[SMM Steel] Nucor Leads US HRC Spot Price Hikes; California Offers Hit 1,200 USD/st Mark
[US] Nucor announced an increase in its hot-rolled coil spot prices yesterday by 10 USD/short ton (st) to 1,145 USD/st. Notably, prices at its California Steel Industries (CSI) mill saw an even steeper hike, rising by an additional 15 USD/st to reach 1,200 USD/st. On the supply side, although Nucor officially stated that its lead times remain stable at 3 to 5 weeks, actual market feedback indicates that overall delivery times have extended significantly, reaching up to 8 weeks.
