[SpaceX's European Rival Seeks $300 Million Funding]

Published: Jul 27, 2026 09:45
According to the UK’s Financial Times, The Exploration Company GmbH, a potential European rival to SpaceX, is in talks to raise at least $300 million, partly from the EU’s “European Scale-up Fund”, which would raise the company’s valuation to more than $2 billion. People familiar with the matter said the funding round, which has not yet been finalised, will be used to support the company’s development of Europe’s first reusable space capsule for transporting cargo to the International Space Station (and planned subsequent space stations). The company last raised funding in 2024, securing around $160 million from French and German government-backed funds. The 2024 funding round was also used to finance the development of its reusable space capsule, Nyx.

[SMM Tin News: SK Chey Tae-won: South Korea Needs to Transform into an "AI-Native" Country]
SK Hynix chief Chey Tae-won stated that South Korea must become an "AI-native country," adding, "The goal is to ensure everyone has at least one AI agent." He remarked, "If this goal is achieved, South Korea will become a global AI testbed where various AI technologies can be experimented with and applied." Chey noted that SK Group will provide more opportunities for AI development through sustained R&D investment. Chey also emphasized the critical importance of lowering AI costs. He said, "Currently, the cost of AI is excessively high. We must reduce costs through various means so that more people around the world can benefit from AI." Chey stated that South Korea can lower AI costs by expanding memory chip production scale and building more AI data centers, thereby creating a global AI data center hub connecting the US, Europe, and Asia.
