Recently, Zhangye Dawei Energy Co., Ltd. and China Chemical Chengda Engineering Co., Ltd. officially signed the contract for the demonstration project of industrial tail gas resource utilization coupled with renewable energy to produce green hydrogen and green methanol, and held the project kickoff meeting. This means the project has moved from the preparatory phase into the substantive advancement phase, and also marks new progress in China's large-scale project of coupling industrial tail gas with green hydrogen to produce green methanol.
The signed project is located in the Circular Economy Demonstration Park of the Zhangye Economic and Technological Development Zone in Gansu Province, and is a key new energy industry demonstration project in the area. The project will focus on coupling industrial tail gas resource utilization with renewable energy hydrogen production, promoting the coordinated development of the green hydrogen and green methanol industries.
According to the project plan, the target is an annual output of 500,000 mt of green methanol, which will fully utilize local renewable energy resources and combine industrial tail gas resource utilization technology to build a green hydrogen production and green methanol production system, further improving the efficiency of renewable energy utilization.
During the signing and launch activities, Yi Jianghun, Chairman of Dawei Energy, and Xu Gang, Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of Chengda Company, attended and delivered speeches, while Yi Kexin, General Manager of Dawei Energy, and Zheng Lan, Deputy General Manager of Chengda Company, signed on behalf of both parties.
This cooperation will further promote the comprehensive utilization of new energy resources and industrial tail gas resources in Zhangye City, and provide new project support for the local development of the green hydrogen, green methanol, and renewable energy industry chain. The subsequent implementation and progress of the project will also serve as a demonstration reference for the large-scale and collaborative development of related industries.
