June China's imports of other antimony ore and concentrates were 10,688.6 mt [SMM data]

On July 20, SMM reported that customs data showed China's imports of other antimony ores and concentrates stood at 10,688.6 mt in June 2026, slightly down from May's 10,980.1 mt. However, imports of antimony ores and concentrates remained above 10,000 mt. Market sources noted that antimony market prices continued to fall rapidly recently, as weak buying interest in the end-use market led to an oversupply of resources. If the volume of imported ore does not decline significantly in the future, the market supply of antimony resources will remain in a relatively surplus state. Nevertheless, an informed market source disclosed that although June imports of other antimony ores and concentrates were large, a considerable portion of this ore merely entered the Chinese market and has not yet been sold to the smelting sector, but is temporarily held as inventory. Therefore, in the short term, this ore may not be turned into antimony products, adding supply pressure to the market.
