LG Chem Begins Direct Cathode Supply to Toyota

According to industry sources on July 14, LG Chem has been supplying battery cathode materials to Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America (TEMA) since the second quarter.

Supply volumes are also gradually increasing. The two companies signed a KRW 2.86 trillion cathode materials supply contract in October 2023, with the contract running through December 2030.

Ganfeng Lithium announced on July 14 that it expects its net profit attributable to shareholders of the publicly listed firm for the first half of 2026 to be between 3.65 billion yuan and 4.6 billion yuan, representing a YoY turnaround to profitability. During the reporting period, benefiting from the rapid development of the global new energy industry and rising demand for lithium chemicals from downstream clients, the selling prices of the company's lithium chemical products rose significantly YoY.
