Canada Launches Centralized Data Platform to Streamline Mining Project Approvals

Published: Jul 15, 2026 09:44
Canada has launched the Open Science and Data Platform (OSDP), a centralized digital portal that integrates geospatial, environmental and regulatory data to support mining and infrastructure project reviews. Developed by Natural Resources Canada, the platform aims to improve regulatory efficiency, reduce duplicated studies and enhance transparency. It is already being used to support major projects, including Newmont's proposed Red Chris mine expansion in British Columbia.
