Türkiye’s plan to expand combined solar and wind capacity to 120GW by 2035, supported by around USD 80 billion in investment, is expected to increase demand for aluminium in cables, transmission lines, distribution networks and solar infrastructure. RUSAL said low-carbon aluminium will play an important role in grid modernization, making the energy transition a key long-term driver of aluminium demand.

Opsun Systems has launched the SunRail Inverter Rack, a 6000-series aluminum mounting system for commercial and industrial rooftop solar projects. Designed for wind speeds up to 180 mph and snow loads of 100 PSF, the modular rack supports one to six string inverters and improves installation efficiency, further expanding aluminum applications in solar infrastructure.

Vedanta Aluminium produced a record 632,000 tonnes of aluminium in Q1 FY27, up 5% YoY, driven by new smelter capacity and higher operating efficiency. BALCO’s aluminium output surged 17% YoY, while alumina production rose 41% YoY to 826,000 tonnes on expansion gains. The company expects BALCO’s expansion to reach full capacity by Q4 and continues strengthening raw material security through new bauxite and coal projects.
