【SMM Steel】Suez Steel achieves record-low natural gas use in DRI production

【SMM Steel】Egypt's Suez Steel set a new energy-efficiency benchmark at its DRI plant using Tenova-Danieli's ENERGIRON ZR tech, the first large-scale industrial application. The plant operates with high metallization rates and direct hot feeding to the meltshop. Through continuous optimization, natural gas consumption has consistently been slightly below 2.2 Gcal/t for months. A recently commissioned captive pellet plant supplies high-quality pellets with optimal reducibility. The advances highlight Suez Steel's commitment to sustainable, cost-effective production.
