[SMM Steel] US scrap exports decline in February amid weaker demand

[SMM Steel] United States iron and steel scrap exports totaled 849,092 mt in February, down 9.6% MoM and 19.6% YoY. Turkey remained the top buyer at 259,471 mt (-16.3% MoM), followed by Mexico, Thailand, and Taiwan. Export value fell to $426.75 million. In the short term, lower scrap flows may tighten supply for import-dependent markets while reflecting softer buying activity.
