[SMM Iron & Steel] Ukraine’s Q1 2026 Iron Ore Exports Drop by 33.9%

Ukraine's mining industry experienced a sharp 33.9% year-on-year decline in iron ore exports during the first quarter of 2026, dropping to a total volume of 5.61 million tons. Compared to the previous quarter, shipments decreased by 18.1% due to ongoing logistical constraints and shifting market demands. While Asian markets remained the primary destination, European shipments to Slovakia and Poland also recorded noticeable year-on-year decreases of 16.8% and 35%, respectively.
