【SMM Steel】Turkey's Kardemir launches $74m continuous casting investment

【SMM Steel】Turkish steelmaker Kardemir commissioned its new CCM #2 on its 89th anniversary. The project is part of a $74m investment package including a second vacuum degasser and sizing block for the bar/rod mill. The upgrades aim to raise liquid steel capacity to 3 Mt/y while expanding high-value-added goods. Kardemir also looks to utilize Filyos Port to improve regional logistics and growth.
