Published: Mar 23, 2026 13:24
ArcelorMittal has announced plans to resume two-furnace operations at its Fos-sur-Mer facility in France during the second half of 2026, supported by anticipated EU protective measures like the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Blast furnace number one, which is currently undergoing a 90 million euro maintenance and modernization program to prolong its operational life, is scheduled to restart in June 2026. The company intends to hire additional technical staff and operators to facilitate this production increase, aiming to restore the site to its full annual capacity of approximately 4 million to 5 million tonnes.
