NDRC to Unleash Services Sector Potential, Aims for 100T Yuan; BeiDou Industry Targets 1T Yuan in 5 Years

Zheng Shanjie, Director of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), noted that the NDRC will work in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce, MIIT, and other relevant departments to roll out a series of policies to expand capacity and improve quality, fully unleashing the enormous potential for high-quality development in the services sector. Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the scale of the services sector is expected to achieve a new breakthrough, reaching a new level of over 100 trillion yuan.
Meanwhile, efforts will continue to advance the BeiDou large-scale application program, with a focus on promoting the vigorous development of the BeiDou industry, striving to push the industry’s scale past the 1 trillion yuan threshold within five years.

Fed Governor Milan Cautions Against Overinterpreting Jobs Report, Supports Rate Cut to Neutral Level
US Fed Governor Milan noted that he was not inclined to overinterpret a single month’s employment report. He mentioned that an oil price shock might bring downward pressure to core inflation by suppressing demand. He also believed that the neutral rate was roughly in the 2.5%–2.75% range, and that the US Fed should cut interest rates to the neutral level and then reassess the situation. In addition, he stated clearly that if the US Fed did not decide on an interest rate cut this month, he would vote against it.
