East Hope to Acquire 5 Bauxite IUPs in Indonesia for $200-250M, Plans Further Geology Review

[SMM Aluminum Express News] East Hope Group to be mentioned that they have reached an MoU to acquire 5 bauxite IUP in Indonesia from PT Bino Artomas Mineral Group. The 5 IUPs has never been on operation yet; however, geology review has been conducted in the Indonesian lab. It will cost around USD 200 - USD 250 mn for all 5 IUP with an area of more than 100,000 hectares in Ketapang, North Kayong, and Melawi.

Current status: East Hope will gather geologist team to conduct the geology review again based on the Chinese lab.

[SMM Aluminum Flash News] METLEN Approved for EUR 300 Million Gallium Expansion Project in Greece
Greece’s Interministerial Committee for Strategic Investments has approved METLEN Energy & Metals’ EUR 300 million gallium expansion project linked to its existing bauxite mining and alumina refining operations at Aluminum of Greece. The project will also support the expansion of nearby bauxite mines and alumina facilities. Gallium is classified by the EU as a critical raw material used in semiconductors, photovoltaics, AI and defense technologies. METLEN said the investment aims to strengthen Europe’s domestic critical mineral supply chain, reduce import dependence and improve industrial resilience. The project is expected to receive about EUR 118 million in grants and tax incentives.

[SMM Aluminum Flash News] RUSAL Says Low-Carbon Aluminum Can Support Azerbaijan’s Construction Decarbonisation
A RUSAL official said low-carbon and recycled aluminum could help Azerbaijan’s construction sector reduce lifecycle costs and carbon emissions. The company noted that aluminum’s lightweight, durability and recyclability are driving wider use in buildings and municipal infrastructure. RUSAL’s ALLOW low-carbon aluminum brand produces more than 3 million tones annually using Siberian hydropower, with emissions of about 5.9 tCO2e per tone, well below the global industry average. The company added that aluminum can be infinitely recycled after building decommissioning, supporting circular economy and low-carbon urban development.

[SMM Aluminum Flash News] Constellium Outperforms Ryerson Amid Elevated Aluminum Prices
Constellium and Ryerson are attracting market attention as aluminum prices remain high amid global trade tensions. Constellium benefited from stronger packaging, automotive and aerospace demand, with Q4 2025 revenue rising 28% YoY to USD 2.2 billion and packaging and automotive rolled product shipments increasing 11%. The company also generated USD 110 million in free cash flow and continued share buybacks. In comparison, Ryerson’s aluminum business supported a 10.4% increase in aluminum revenue to USD 1.15 billion in 2025, but weaker manufacturing demand and debt pressure continued to weigh on sentiment. Over the past six months, Constellium shares rose 60.8% while Ryerson declined 6.6%.
