【SMM Steel】SMS group completes rapid automation upgrade for Shandong Rizhao

【SMM Steel】In January, SMS modernized a continuous galvanizing line at Shandong Rizhao, replacing old controllers with the Siemens TIA platform and S7-1500. Using X‑Pact® Plug & Work, engineers simulated before installation. During maintenance, key functions were restored in 3 hours, the full line reconnected in 5 hours, and full production resumed in 27 hours with the zinc pot/furnace active. This upgrade supports automotive and appliance steel production.

[SMM HRC Daily Trading] Futures Moved in a Narrow Range; Spot Trading Volume Increased

[SMM HRC Daily Trading] On March 4, the total daily HRC trading volume of sampled enterprises in four SMM cities (Shanghai, Lecong, Tianjin, and Ningbo) was 10,560 mt, up 920 mt (+9.5%) MoM. On a calendar YoY basis, it was down 22.92%, while on a lunar-calendar YoY basis, it was up 9.20%.
