This week, spot premiums/discounts in the Guangdong region decreased by approximately 55 yuan/mt compared to pre-holiday levels. As of Friday, mainstream #0 zinc was quoted at a discount of 125 yuan/mt in Guangdong, and the Shanghai-Guangdong price spread continued to narrow. Zinc prices fluctuated at highs during the week, while downstream operating enterprises in Guangdong were limited, leading to relatively quiet market activity. Coupled with the contract rollover in Guangdong during the week, spot premiums/discounts declined noticeably. Looking ahead to next week, processing enterprises in Guangdong are expected to resume production more intensively after the Lantern Festival, which is projected to drive a recovery in market demand and provide some support to spot premiums/discounts.
