Sunstone Development: Sulphide Solid-State Electrolyte Project in the R&D Stage
On March 3, Sunstone Development (603612.SH) stated on an investor interaction platform that the company’s sulphide solid-state electrolyte project was in the R&D stage and had not yet achieved commercialization, reminding investors to be mindful of investment risks.
AESC: Filed a Patent for a Solid-State Electrolyte Preparation Method
Information from the China National Intellectual Property Administration showed that AESC Technology (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. and Envision Ruitai Power Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. filed a patent application in November 2025 titled “Preparation Method of Solid-State Electrolyte, Solid-State Electrolyte, and All-Solid-State Battery,” publication number CN121601766A. The method mixed MOFs materials with an electrolyte matrix (mass ratio 0.7 wt%–2.8 wt%) in a sealed environment, heated the mixture at 125°C–220°C under vacuum, and then cooled it at a rate below 45°C/min, effectively improving the ionic conductivity of the solid-state electrolyte and its interfacial compatibility with electrodes, thereby enhancing the cycling performance of all-solid-state batteries.
Changyang Technology: Framework Film Produced on Wet-Process Separator Lines; Ion-Conducting Film Still Under Verification
On March 4, Changyang Technology (688299.SH) stated that the production line currently capable of producing framework film for solid-state batteries was the company’s original conventional wet-process separator line. Market demand for this product had not yet scaled up, and the revenue amount was relatively small; the ion-conducting film the company had deployed was still under development and verification. On March 4, TONZE (002759.SZ) stated on an investor interaction platform that the company’s lithium sulfide project was in the early R&D stage, and that there were uncertainties in technology R&D, client validation, and the industrialisation process.
Great Power Energy: Solid-State Battery Products Enter the Pilot-Scale Stage
On March 3, Great Power Energy (300438.SZ) said that the company’s solid-state battery products were currently in the pilot-scale stage, adopting an oxide composite route.
II. Capacity Buildout: Qingtao Advances on Two Tracks; CORNEX Files Two Major Bases
Wuhai Qingtao: EIA Public Notice for 5 Gwh Solid-State Battery + 500 mt Electrolyte Project
On March 2, the Haibowan District Branch of the Ecology and Environment Bureau of Wuhai City, Inner Mongolia, released a public notice on the proposed approval of the project’s EIA. Qingtao (Wuhai) Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Qingtao Energy, planned to invest in two projects: the Wuhai Qingtao 5 Gwh solid-state lithium battery production line project, with a total investment of 1 billion yuan, was expected to have an annual output of 5 Gwh, including 5 million steel-cased prismatic LFP batteries per year; the Wuhai Qingtao 500 mt solid-state electrolyte material production line project, with a total investment of 1 billion yuan, mainly involved the construction of a 500 mt solid-state electrolyte material production line. Both projects are located in the Qianlishan Industrial Park, Haibowan District, Wuhai City.
Taizhou Qingtao: 3.5 Gwh Solid-State Battery Production Line Officially Commences Operations
On March 3, the solid-state battery production line of Taizhou Qingtao Energy Technology Co., Ltd., located in the Huangyan Economic Development Zone of Taizhou City, officially commenced operations. The production line has a designed capacity of 3.5 Gwh, with products being power battery cells, covering processes such as slurry mixing, coating, calendering and slitting, winding, and assembly, and the first batch of battery products is expected to roll off the line in more than ten days. Phase I covers approximately 246 mu and is expected to build a 10 Gwh power solid-state battery production line, with a total investment of 5.2 billion yuan; after full completion, the annual output value is expected to exceed 5 billion yuan.
CORNEX New Energy: Solid-State Production Lines Filed for Two Major Bases in Yichang and Xiaogan
On February 26, information from the Hubei Province Online Approval and Supervision Platform for Investment Projects showed that the Yichang CORNEX New Energy new-type lithium battery high-end intelligent manufacturing project and the Xiaogan CORNEX New Energy next-generation lithium battery high-end intelligent manufacturing project completed filing. Both projects explicitly mentioned “adding new UAV batteries, robot batteries, and solid-state and semi-solid-state battery production lines.” The Yichang CORNEX project has a total investment of 27.5 billion yuan and is expected to have an annual output of 100 Gwh of power and ESS batteries, with a proposed start date of February 2027; the Xiaogan CORNEX project has a total investment of 27.5 billion yuan and is expected to have an annual output of 100 Gwh of power and ESS batteries, with a proposed start date of May 2026. Gotion High-tech: Design of 2 Gwh All-Solid-State Battery Mass Production Line Basically Completed
On March 2, Gotion High-tech stated on an interactive platform that the design work for the company’s 2 Gwh all-solid-state battery mass production line had basically been completed. In May 2025, Gotion High-tech announced that construction of an all-solid-state battery pilot line had been completed, with a designed capacity of 0.2 Gwh, a 100% in-house development rate for the line, a 100% localisation rate for core equipment, and 30+ patent applications. Pilot samples achieved a battery cell energy density of 350 Wh/kg and a single-cell capacity of 70 Ah, and vehicle installation testing has been initiated.
Dejia Energy: 3 Gwh Solid-State Battery Project Settles in Shanghai Lingang
On February 27, the signing ceremony for the first batch of key industrial projects of Lingang Group in 2026 was held, and the solid-state battery project of Dejia Energy (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was officially launched. The project is expected to be built in two phases to establish 3 Gwh solid-state battery production lines, located at the Shanghai Lingang battery manufacturing base, with products covering humanoid robots, the low-altitude economy, and power and consumer applications.
Kunshan Guochuang Group: Solid-State Power Battery Plant Project Resumes Work
On February 26, according to “Kunshan Development Zone Release,” the solid-state power battery plant project invested in and constructed by Chuangyue Asset Company, a subsidiary of Guochuang Group, officially resumed work. The project has a total investment of approximately 850 million yuan. The overall progress has currently reached 39%; the main structure of the plant has been fully completed, and the project is now fully entering the decoration and fit-out as well as equipment installation stage.
Guangdong Dianjiangjun: Groundbreaking for 1.6 Billion Yuan Solid-State Battery Production Site for the Low-Altitude Economy
On February 25, Foshan City, Guangdong Province held the 2026 New Year groundbreaking event for major projects. The expansion project for a solid-state battery production site for the low-altitude economy has a total investment of 1.6 billion yuan and covers an area of 90 mu, focusing on the R&D and production of low-altitude batteries and ESS batteries, and is expected to generate an annual output value of 1 billion yuan. The project developer is Guangdong Dianjiangjun Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd.
III. Financing and M&A: Yaoshi Lithium Battery Completes 200 Million Yuan Financing; Suzuki Acquires Kanadevia
Yaoshi Lithium Battery: Completes 200 Million Yuan Series A Financing
On February 27, Shenzhen Yaoshi Lithium Battery Technology Co., Ltd. announced the completion of 200 million yuan in Series A financing. This round was led by Wuyuefeng, with participation from Suikai Investment, Gaoxintou, and Nanping City Industrial Xingbang Fund. The financing will be primarily used for R&D of 2 ultra-high energy density solid-state batteries (ED > 1,000 Wh/L) and market expansion among leading clients, accelerating the commercialisation and deployment of solid-state battery technology in consumer electronics AI smart end-user terminals, drones, humanoid robots, and other fields. Suzuki Motor: Acquisition of Kanadevia’s All-Solid-State Battery Business
On March 4, Suzuki Motor of Japan announced that it had signed a business transfer agreement with Kanadevia Corporation and is expected to acquire Kanadevia’s all-solid-state battery business on July 1, 2026, with the transaction to be settled in cash. Kanadevia has been developing all-solid-state batteries since 2006 and owns the proprietary “AS-LiB®” all-solid-state battery brand, manufactured using a dry-process route. In March 2022, it collaborated with JAXA to complete the world’s first charge/discharge verification of an all-solid-state battery under space exposure conditions on the International Space Station; in 2023, it secured its first commercial order in the semiconductor manufacturing equipment sector.
IV. Materials Support: Chengdu Yixuan Production Line Commences Operations; Dongdao New Energy Technological Transformation Approved
Chengdu Yixuan: 80 mt Solid Electrolyte Material Production Line Ready for Commissioning
On February 28, the solid electrolyte material project of Chengdu Yixuan New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. in the Xinjin Economic Development Zone largely completed equipment commissioning and is ready for commissioning. With a total investment of approximately 100 million yuan, the project is designed for an annual output of 80 mt of high-purity solid electrolyte materials (lithium sulphide, sulphide electrolytes), along with supporting electronic functional materials such as 40 mt per year of high-purity antimony targets, and is expected to generate an annual output value of approximately 50 million yuan. Product purity can reach up to 99.99%, representing a relatively high level in the industry, and can be applied in fields such as NEVs, 5G communications, and artificial intelligence.
Guangdong Dongdao New Energy: High-Performance Battery Anode Material Technological Transformation Project Granted Energy-Saving Review Approval
On February 25, the Guangdong Provincial Energy Bureau issued its review opinion on the energy-saving report for Guangdong Dongdao New Energy’s high-performance battery anode material technological transformation project, granting approval in principle. The project is located in the Zhanjiang Fenyong High-Tech Zone, with a total investment of 400 million yuan, and is expected to deliver an annual increase in value added of approximately 882 million yuan. Main construction scope: 20,000 mt/year of high-performance modified anode materials (artificial graphite 10,000 mt; natural graphite 10,000 mt), 500 mt/year of high-performance silicon carbon anode materials, as well as a 60,000 mt/year dry distillation anode material production line and an 80,000 mt/year finished product production line. The project is expected to break ground in February 2026 and commence operations in December 2027.
V. Application Progress: Jinyu New Energy Delivers to Engineering Vehicle Clients; National Standard Proposal Draws AttentionJinyu New Energy: Wanshan Ultra-Fast-Charging Solid-State Batteries Delivered to Top-Tier Engineering Vehicle Client
On February 25, Jinyu New Energy’s official WeChat account reported that at the start of 2026, Jinyu New Energy’s Wanshan series ultra-fast-charging solid-state batteries were delivered to a top-tier engineering vehicle client, marking that the company had developed full-stack delivery capabilities for engineering vehicles, including solid-state battery cell R&D and manufacturing, power system integration, and application-scenario simulation testing.
NPC Deputy Hu Chengzhong: Proposal to Accelerate the Formulation of National Standards for Solid-State Batteries
Hu Chengzhong, a deputy to the National People’s Congress and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delixi Group, submitted seven proposals covering areas including solid-state batteries. He proposed accelerating the formulation and implementation of a series of national standards for automotive solid-state batteries, and issuing performance specifications, safety specifications, and lifespan specifications as soon as possible; optimizing the direction of policy support by shifting from large-scale subsidies to targeted support, with a focus on supporting technological breakthroughs in key links such as electrolyte materials and production equipment; and launching solid-state battery application demonstration projects to accelerate technology popularization and market cultivation.
Conclusion: This week, the solid-state battery industry remained exceptionally lively. Enterprises such as Sunstone Development and TONZE made it clear that their sulphide projects were still in the early R&D stage, indicating that technological breakthroughs on the upstream materials side still required time; meanwhile, Qingtao Energy advanced its two major bases in Wuhai and Taizhou simultaneously, CORNEX New Energy filed two projects for solid-state production lines, Suzuki’s acquisition of Kanadevia accelerated technology integration, and Yaoshi Lithium Battery completed 200 million yuan in financing, showing that the industrialisation process of top-tier enterprises had clearly accelerated. With proposals from NPC Deputy Hu Chengzhong and other entrepreneurs, the formulation of national standards for solid-state batteries was expected to accelerate, and the industry was likely to move from policy-driven development toward standardized development at a faster pace.
According to SMM forecasts, all-solid-state battery shipments will reach 13.5 GWh by 2028, while semi-solid-state battery shipments will reach 160 GWh. Global lithium-ion battery demand is projected to reach approximately 2,800 GWh by 2030, with the EV sector's lithium-ion battery demand showing a CAGR of around 11% from 2024 to 2030, ESS lithium-ion battery demand at a CAGR of about 27%, and consumer electronics lithium battery demand at a CAGR of roughly 10%. Global solid-state battery penetration is estimated at about 0.1% in 2025, with all-solid-state battery penetration expected to reach around 4% by 2030, and global solid-state battery penetration potentially approaching 10% by 2035.
