Broadcom Unveils New Chip, Aims for 1M Sales by 2027
Broadcom (AVGO.O) Vice President of Product Marketing Harish Baladwaj said on Wednesday that based on its stacking design, the company is expected to sell at least 1 million chips by 2027. This forecast marks the launch of a new product by Broadcom and sets a new sales target, which could potentially bring in revenue sources worth billions of US dollars. These chips are manufactured based on a technology developed by Broadcom, which stacks two chips together, enabling different silicon dies to be closely connected, thereby increasing the speed of data transmission from one chip to another. Baladwaj stated that the company's stacking technology allows clients to produce chips with higher performance and lower energy consumption, meeting the rapidly growing computational demands driven by artificial intelligence software.

To cope with rising component costs, smartphone manufacturers are cutting specifications, discontinuing entry-level models, and guiding consumers toward higher-end devices. Nabila Popal, Senior Research Director at IDC, said, "We expect the situation will not ease until at least mid-2027.
