【SMM Flash News】Power2X Acquires HyCC to Scale Green Hydrogen Portfolio

Published: Feb 25, 2026 20:55
Sustainable energy firm Power2X has acquired Dutch green hydrogen developer HyCC to accelerate its "clean molecule" project pipeline across North-West Europe. The deal, announced on February 24, 2026, integrates HyCC’s strategic assets in major industrial hubs—including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and a 90-MW electrolysis project in Delfzijl—into Power2X’s portfolio. With a combined development pipeline reaching 1 GW, the acquisition allows Power2X to focus on large-scale delivery for maritime, aviation, and heavy industry. This consolidation occurs as the European hydrogen sector seeks greater scale and stronger capital bases to transition from early-stage development to industrial-scale operations.

【SMM Flash News】EDPR Recurring Profit Jumps 50% Amid US & Europe Focus
EDP Renovaveis (EDPR) reported a 50% year-on-year increase in recurring net profit to €330 million for 2025, driven by a strategic pivot toward low-risk markets in the US and Europe. Recurring EBITDA rose 17% to €1.97 billion, beating its annual guidance. Despite robust operations—with generation up 11%—reported net income was weighed down by non-recurring charges, including impairments in Europe and the repowering of the Meadow Lake IV wind farm in the US. The company forecast a further EBITDA rise to €2.1 billion for 2026.

【SMM Flash News】Vestas Secures 1.4 GW Turbine Order for RWE’s Norfolk Vanguard West
Danish manufacturer Vestas has received a firm order to supply 92 of its V236-15.0 MW turbines for RWE’s 1.4 GW Norfolk Vanguard West offshore wind farm in the UK. This milestone follows RWE’s success in the UK’s Contracts for Difference (CfD) Allocation Round 7 and its newly formed 50/50 joint venture with KKR to co-develop the multi-billion dollar project. Located 45 km off the Norfolk coast, the wind farm is expected to power 1.5 million British homes. With a final investment decision (FID) targeted for summer 2026, Vestas will also provide a five-year service agreement for the project, which is scheduled for commissioning in 2029
