[SMM Iron & Steel] India’s NMDC Reports 8% Growth in January Iron Ore Production

State-run miner NMDC Limited achieved an iron ore production of 5.56 million metric tonnes (mt) in January 2026, marking an 8.04% increase year-on-year. Cumulative production for the April-January fiscal period reached 42.45 million mt, up 18.34%. The miner is aggressively expanding its Bailadila deposits to meet its long-term goal of 100 mtpa capacity by 2030, supporting India’s domestic steel boom
