【SMM Steel】SSAB & JTK Power Launch Low-Emission Marine Silencer

【SMM Steel】JTK Power has built the world's first marine engine silencer using SSAB Zero™ steel, made from recycled steel and fossil-free energy. It reduces carbon emissions by 77% per tonne versus conventional steel. Using four tonnes of this steel, the silencer's total emissions were nearly halved. It was processed with standard methods, performing identically to regular steel. This low-carbon innovation can lower port fees for ships. SSAB Zero™ steel production will scale up after a new electric arc furnace is completed in Oxelösund in 2026.
