LG Energy Solution and Qcells Partner for 5 GWh BESS Projects in US, Delivery from 2028 to 2030

4th Feb , LGES officially announced a cooperation agreement with Qcells, a wholly-owned subsidiary of South Korea's Hanwha Group. The agreement includes a 5 GWh lithium-ion battery energy storage system (BESS) for energy storage projects in the US. LGES will provide full life cycle services, with delivery scheduled from 2028 to 2030.The ESS provided by LGES will adopt the latest containerized lithium battery solution, utilizing LFP batteries produced at LG's US factory. It is reported that the capacity of LGES's battery plant in Michigan, US. Qcells' solar panels are manufactured in Georgia, US. This cooperation will meet local manufacturing requirements in the US, further reducing trade and tariff risks.

On February 3, Far East Holdings announced a disclosure regarding its subsidiary's awarded projects. In January 2026, the total value of contracts awarded to and signed by its subsidiaries, each exceeding 10 million yuan, amounted to 30,753,888,000 yuan. Among these, contracts related to energy storage systems were valued at 594 million yuan, while those related to lithium batteries totaled 1,186.9 million yuan. Far East Holdings stated that the company is firmly implementing its "electric energy + computing power + AI" strategy and will continue to fully expand related core technology products/services.
