Turkey’s steel production increased by 3.3% year-on-year in 2025, reaching a total of 38.12 million tonnes. While crude steel output grew, pig iron production decreased by 4.6% to 9.71 million tonnes, reflecting a shift in production methods. The growth was supported by infrastructure rebuilding efforts following the 2023 earthquakes and a recovery in export demand. Industry associations forecast moderate continued growth for 2026 as capacity modernization projects come online.
