Power Lithium Battery Recycling Project Kicks Off in Fuzhou, Jiangxi

On August 7, Shandong Chuanglu Advanced Battery Technology Co., Ltd. announced that its entire range of solid-state electrolytes and lithium-rich manganese-based cathode materials have completed pilot-scale validation, with product batch consistency and mass production processes fully meeting standards. Among these, the annual 150-ton solid-state electrolyte production line has completed installation and commissioning, while the thousand-ton cathode material production line has entered the trial production phase. The company's core products are about to officially enter the stage of large-scale industrialization. This will enable the provision of stable and reliable batch supplies and customized material solutions for diverse downstream applications, including 3C digital products, engineering machinery, power batteries, and all-solid-state batteries, thereby accelerating the commercialization of all-solid-state batteries.

Recently, it was reported that the two new all-tab production lines at Tianpeng Power's Malaysia facility have both achieved mass production. These production lines cover a range of all-tab products in 18650 and 21700 formats, with a daily production capacity of 500,000 units. This will further enhance Tianpeng's delivery capabilities for all-tab products in overseas markets. The commissioning of the new all-tab production lines in Malaysia will further optimize Tianpeng's global manufacturing layout for all-tab products, strengthening its product delivery capabilities for overseas markets, particularly in high-growth sectors such as AI data centers.

Against the backdrop of the United States accelerating the build-out of its domestic battery supply chain while continuing to depend on foreign sources for critical minerals, the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) issued an interim final rule on August 5, 2026, imposing export controls on certain recycled battery materials. The most impactful measure is a temporary export restriction on black mass — an intermediate product of lithium battery recycling.
