Freeport Indonesia's GBC to Fully Resume in 2027; Copper Concentrate Procurement Talks Ongoing

【SMM News Flash】Tony Wenas, CEO of Freeport Indonesia, stated on Monday that production at the Grasberg Block Cave (GBC) will fully resume in 2027 following a fatal mud outburst accident in September. Meanwhile, the company is in negotiations with copper miner Amman Mineral Internasional to procure copper concentrates for Freeport's smelter, but an agreement has not yet been reached.

National New Energy Passenger Vehicle Market Retail Data

The CPCA released the latest data showing that from July 1 to 26, retail sales in the national new energy passenger vehicle market reached 738,000 units, down 2% from the same period in July last year and down 10% MoM. This year, cumulative retail sales have reached 5.443 million units, a YoY decline of 13%.
