Recycling Industry Events This Week (September. 22-27)

This week's recycling industry events.

【Chizhou to Build 80,000-Ton LFP Battery Material Processing Facility】

An 80,000-metric-ton per year lithium iron phosphate battery material processing project has been established in Chizhou City. The local ecology and environment bureau is preparing to issue an approval opinion for the project's environmental impact assessment documents. The project involves leasing workshops to build one 30,000-metric-ton LFP recycling line and one 50,000-metric-ton battery anode sheet repair line, utilizing existing public utilities from another facility. Upon completion, the project is expected to annually produce 22,660 metric tons of LFP powder, 6,750 metric tons of aluminum foil, 37,657 metric tons of negative electrode graphite powder, and 11,250 metric tons of copper foil.

【Hubei Battery Regeneration Base Set for Late September Production Start】

A lithium battery regeneration base is nearing operational status. Located in an industrial park, the phase one of the base has an annual processing capacity of 20,000 metric tons of waste power batteries and is scheduled to commence production by the end of September.

【Shaanxi Approves New Power Battery Dismantling and Echelon Use Project】

A new battery recycling investment project has been launched in Hanzhong, Shaanxi. The local ecology and environment bureau announced its approval decision for the environmental impact report of a project focused on the recycling and echelon utilization of retired power lithium batteries. The project, to be built within an economic development zone, involves constructing one disassembly line and one echelon utilization line for retired power batteries, with an annual processing capacity of 21,000 units. The total investment is 128 million yuan.

【Hefei Greenlights Major Ternary Battery Recycling and Materials Production Plant】

A ternary battery recycling project has been launched in Hefei. The local ecology and environment bureau released the first environmental impact assessment announcement for the project. With a total investment of 1.74 billion yuan, the project will cover an area of approximately 156.51 acres. Upon completion, it is expected to annually produce 10,000 metric tons of ternary precursor, 8,000 metric tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate, 6,000 metric tons of electrowon nickel, and 5,000 metric tons of battery-grade manganese sulfate.

【Nantong Project to Combine Auto Dismantling with Battery Recycling by 2026】

A project for recycling 20,000 end-of-life vehicles and 30,000 metric tons of waste lithium batteries annually has been established in Nantong City. The local data bureau has officially accepted the environmental impact report for the project. The company will build its own factory, with formal production expected to begin in 2026. The construction scope includes the annual recycling and dismantling of 20,000 end-of-life vehicles and the resource utilization of 30,000 metric tons of lithium batteries.

【100,000-Ton LFP Cathode Material Plant Nears Trial Production in Shanxi】

A 100,000-metric-ton lithium iron phosphate project is nearing production. Located in an industrial park in Yangquan City, Shanxi Province, the project is expected to further complete the local lithium battery industry chain. The project's first phase, involving an investment of 1.85 billion yuan, officially started construction and is planned to begin trial production in mid-September, with stable batch delivery starting in October. A second phase with an additional 100,000 metric tons of capacity is currently under preparation.

【200,000-Ton/Year Anode Material Production Base to be Built in Fujian】

A project for producing 200,000 metric tons of high-performance lithium battery anode materials per year has been launched in Gutian, Fujian. The company has finalized its decision to locate the project there. The total investment is estimated at 5 billion yuan, with an expected annual output value of 6 billion yuan. The first phase of the project is scheduled to start construction and ensure formal operation by June next year.
