WestStar’s SIMPEC awarded to upgrade Tianqi Lithium operations

WestStar Industrial has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, SIMPEC, has secured a contract to deliver structural, mechanical and piping works at Tianqi Lithium’s plant in Kwinana, Western Australia. The contract, valued at approximately AUD 4 million, was awarded by Tianqi Lithium Energy Australia, with work set to commence shortly. Managing Director Mark Dimasi stated that the project represents a major milestone for SIMPEC, strengthening its position as a trusted partner in complex industrial projects and highlighting its growing role in Australia’s lithium and clean energy sector. SIMPEC specialises in delivering high-quality engineering and asset management solutions, with expertise in structural, mechanical and piping, electrical and instrumentation, concrete products, and civil services.

[SMM, March 30] Technological iteration in the sodium-ion battery industry accelerated, and the anode-free route achieved a critical breakthrough. Recently, Nayuan New Materials Technology (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. officially released its NFS anode-free sodium-ion battery prototype product. The battery cell's measured energy density reached 220 Wh/kg, significantly higher than the industry's mainstream level of 120 Wh/kg, providing important technological support for sodium-ion batteries to break through performance bottlenecks and expand application scenarios.

EVE Energy Plans To Invest 6 Billion Yuan To Build 60GWh Energy Storage And Power Battery Project
On March 28, EVE Energy Co., Ltd. issued an announcement stating that the company plans to sign an investment cooperation agreement with the Management Committee of Huizhou Zhongkai High-tech Industrial Development Zone to invest in and construct the "EVE Energy 60GWh Energy Storage (Power) Battery Manufacturing Project" in the Zhongkai High-tech Zone. The total investment for this project is approximately 6 billion yuan, covering an area of about 500 mu. It will be used to construct a production base for energy storage (power) batteries with a capacity of 60GWh. The implementation entity for this project will be EVE Energy or an affiliated company established by it within the zone.
