Beijing (Gasgoo)- On Sept. 19, GAC Group's international arm GAC INTERNATIONAL and its Cambodian partner TH Group signed a cooperation agreement to establish a KD (knock-down) assembly plant in Cambodia, marking a new milestone in GAC's overseas expansion. The deal is also part of the company's "ONE GAC 2.0" global strategy and its "One Localization" initiative.

Located in Kampong Chhnang Province, about 70 km from Phnom Penh, the new plant will be built to GAC's manufacturing standards with a total investment of around US$19 million. It will feature four assembly lines and an annual capacity of 15,000 units. Construction is scheduled for completion in December 2025, with mass production to begin in January 2026.

GAC noted that the KD project is designed not only to provide Cambodian customers with cost-competitive, high-quality vehicles but also to support the local automotive industry by boosting employment, enhancing technical expertise, and strengthening the country's manufacturing base.

Cambodia has become one of GAC's fastest-growing overseas markets, with sales expected to surpass 2,000 units in 2025. GAC said it aims to become the leading Chinese auto brand in the market, leveraging localized production and a growing sales network to further consolidate its position.
