Hunan new energy company picks Malaysia for its South-east Asian lithium battery production hub

[SMM New Energy News Flash] Chinese battery manufacturer Hunan New Energy Battery company has announced its first Southeast Asian manufacturing facility in Senawang, Malaysia, dedicated to producing lithium battery cathode materials. The project, expected to create over 200 jobs, aligns with Malaysia’s clean energy goals under the 13th Malaysia Plan and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030. Backed by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), the initiative aims to strengthen Malaysia’s position in the global clean energy value chain and serve as a strategic hub for Hunan Yuneng’s Southeast Asian expansion.
