Housing Prices Decline Across All Tiers of Cities in May, with Narrowing YoY Decline

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released housing price data for 70 cities. In May, housing prices in cities of all tiers declined MoM. Prices of new homes in first-tier and second-tier cities both fell 0.2% MoM, while prices of existing homes in first-tier cities dropped 0.7% MoM, with the decline widening by 0.5 percentage points from the previous month. The YoY decline in housing prices in cities of all tiers continued to narrow.
