Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On June 16, Xiaomi Founder, Chairman, and CEO Lei Jun announced via social media that the highly anticipated YU7 SUV will be officially launched at the end of June this year. Alongside the YU7, several other heavyweight products will also debut, including the Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro—Xiaomi's second tablet powered by the XRING O1 chip.

The YU7, Xiaomi EV's first SUV and second vehicle model, was initially previewed on May 22. Positioned as a "luxury high-performance SUV," the YU7 marks a comprehensive upgrade in design, intelligent features, range, and safety, aiming to deliver a top-tier experience for the new generation of professionals. At the time, Xiaomi EV confirmed the vehicle would officially go on sale in July.

Addressing speculation about pricing, Mr. Lei Jun previously dismissed the possibility of a 199,000-yuan starting price, stating that for a vehicle with features comparable to Tesla's Model Y, "a price in the 300,000-yuan range would be more realistic."

In terms of styling, the YU7 carries forward Xiaomi SU7's family design language, while adapting it to the proportions and dynamics of an SUV. The vehicle measures 4,999mm in length, 1,996mm in width, and 1,600mm in height, with a 3,000mm wheelbase. Ratios such as a 3:1 wheel-to-axle, 2.1:1 wheel-to-height, and 1.25:1 width-to-height create a sleek, low-slung silhouette.

At the rear, the YU7 continues hallmark SU7 elements such as a sporty ducktail spoiler and the distinctive halo-style taillight. A roof-mounted LiDAR unit underscores its advanced driver assistance capabilities.

Inside, the SUV features a "dual-zone immersive luxury cabin" highlighted by the debut of the "Xiaomi Horizon panoramic display." This setup includes three Mini LED screens forming a 1.1-meter-wide projection surface that supports five customizable information card types. A movable rear control screen adds to the rear passenger experience.

All YU7 variants are built on an 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform. Three trims will be available—Standard, Pro, and Max. The entry-level model delivers a CLTC-rated range of 835 km from a 96.3 kWh battery. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions offer 760 km (Pro) and 770 km (Max) of range, with ultra-fast charging enabling a 620 km top-up in just 15 minutes.

Performance-wise, the dual-motor AWD variant boasts a peak output of 690 PS, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.23 seconds, with a top speed of 253 km/h and a braking distance of only 33.9 meters from 100 km/h.
