Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 23, GAC Group ("GAC") officially launched its brand presence and introduced five new models in Brazil at Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo, marking a significant milestone in the company's global strategy. As part of its "One GAC 2.0" globalization blueprint, the initiative—branded the "Brazil Action Plan"—represents GAC's first substantial move into Latin America and signals a long-term commitment to local investment, integration, and development in the Brazilian market.

At the event, GAC put five new models onto the Brazilian market: the global-oriented AION V, the compact all-electric SUV AION Y, the premium all-electric SUV HYPTEC HT, the plug-in hybrid SUV GS4 HYBRID, and the all-electric sedan AION ES. These launches are aimed at offering Brazilian consumers a comprehensive vision of future mobility.

In a notable step toward deeper localization, GAC also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Instituto Nacional de Metrologia, Qualidade e Tecnologia (Inmetro). Under this partnership, GAC will contribute to the enhancement of Brazil's automotive standards system, supporting the country's efforts to boost industry competitiveness.

As the world's sixth-largest automotive market with a mature car culture and well-established auto industry, Brazil plays a critical role in GAC's globalization roadmap. The Brazilian government's recent emphasis on green reindustrialization and sustainable development—embodied in the 2024 "Mover" initiative—aligns with GAC's green technology strategy. "Mover" offers incentives to accelerate the development of green technologies and upgrade the new energy vehicle (NEV) supply chain.

Responding proactively, GAC launched its localized "Brazil Action Plan", anchored on four strategic pillars: full industrial chain deployment, energy ecosystem development, talent cultivation, and cultural integration.

Key milestones include the formal establishment of GAC's Brazilian subsidiary at the end of 2024 and the launch of a parts distribution center in early 2025. GAC is also integrating with local supply chains and planning a Brazilian R&D center to embed its advanced development capabilities into the local market.

In the energy sector, GAC aims to establish a nationwide energy replenishment network and complete a full-scale industry ecosystem in Brazil by 2030.

On the talent development front, GAC has entered into extensive industry-academic partnerships with leading Brazilian universities such as Unicamp, UFSC, and UFSM to support R&D in flexible fuel technologies and workforce development.

In alignment with its ESG values, GAC is committed to corporate citizenship, actively engaging in community and cultural initiatives. During a recent meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on May 12, GAC expressed its intent to provide NEVs for the COP30, underscoring its commitment to global climate governance.

According to the "Brazil Action Plan" roadmap, 2025 will be a critical year for GAC to establish its full-scale industrial ecosystem in Brazil. On the product side, the company will continue to introduce a diverse portfolio covering BEV (battery electric vehicle), PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle), and oil-fueled vehicles across sedan, SUV, and MPV segments to meet a wide range of consumer needs.

In terms of channel development, Brazil is the first market to adopt GAC's unified "One GAC 2.0" global brand identity. GAC currently operates 33 dealerships across Brazil, covering over 95% of the country's key urban areas.

To strengthen its service capabilities, GAC will accelerate the rollout of its the GAC Sales Service Way ("GSSW") standards in Brazil. This includes a 24/7 customer hotline, roadside assistance, and extended warranties tailored to local consumer preferences.

On the production side, with its parts distribution center launching in early 2025, GAC is set to boost supply chain efficiency and fast-track local manufacturing.

In the energy and mobility ecosystem, GAC is building a nationwide energy supply network and has joined the Brazilian Sustainable Mobility Alliance ("BSMA") to develop a more efficient, sustainable urban transport system.

Through partnerships with financial institutions like Santander Bank, GAC also plans to offer flexible, accessible financing solutions, helping more Brazilian consumers embrace clean, convenient mobility.
