[Tesla to Launch Autonomous Taxi Service in Austin, Texas Next Month]
Musk stated on May 20 local time that Tesla will launch an autonomous taxi service in Austin, Texas, US, by month-end June. Musk said that Tesla will initially deploy approximately 10 autonomous vehicles in certain areas of Austin. If the launch goes smoothly and no accidents occur, the fleet will be expanded to around 1,000 units within a few months. Subsequently, the service will be extended to cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco.
