Patache Port Belt Conveyor Damaged, Cargo Operations Halted for 2 Months, Collahuasi Copper Concentrate Rerouted

Published: May 7, 2025 10:40
According to SMM, the belt conveyor terminal at Patache Port was damaged during operation due to collision with ships. The port cargo loading operation stopped two weeks ago, and maintenance work has already begun. The estimated repair time is at least about 2 months. Before the maintenance is completed, the Collahuasi copper concentrate previously transported through Patache port will be transported by truck from the neighboring ports of Mejillones and Angamos, which has not had a significant impact on the shipment of Collahuasi copper concentrate.
