Changan Automobile eyes expansion into at least 10 European markets by 2025

On March 21, Changan Automobile successfully held its 2025 Changan Europe Brand Event in Germany under the theme Sharing the Future.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On March 21, Changan Automobile successfully held its 2025 Changan Europe Brand Event in Germany under the theme "Sharing the Future". The event showcased nine new models across its three major brands—CHANGAN, DEEPAL, and AVATR—while outlining its strategic roadmap for the European market expansion.  

By the end of 2025, Changan Automobile aims to expand into at least 10 European regional markets, with a long-term goal of establishing operations across the continent by 2028. Over the next three years, the Chinese automaker will introduce nine models in Europe, including the DEEPAL S07, which is scheduled for market launch in the second quarter of this year.

Changan Automobile also plans to invest in localized R&D and manufacturing, build over 1,000 sales and service outlets, and recruit more than 1,000 local employees, adhering to its "In Europe, For Europe" strategy.  

Changan's three brands will cater to different consumer segments:

CHANGAN focuses on mainstream family users, offering reliable and practical mobility solutions.

DEEPAL targets younger customers with tech-forward and stylish models.

AVATR is positioned as a premium intelligent new energy vehicle brand for trendsetting consumers.  

Changan Automobile has signed its first distribution agreement in Norway with Motor Gruppen, with dealerships set to open in the second quarter of this year. In Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK, it will operate national sales companies, with Germany already hosting its first dealership. In the UK, up to 60 showrooms are planned by the end of 2025.  

To enhance its European presence, Changan Automobile is actively building local teams and collaborating with key service providers. It has signed MOUs with Kuehne + Nagel and Allianz Partners for logistics, insurance, and service solutions, ensuring top-tier customer support. Additionally, through its global user brand  "withU", the automaker aims to provide seamless and personalized customer service.

With 2025 marking a pivotal year for its globalization strategy, Changan Automobile's European market expansion supports its goal of achieving global sales of 3 million vehicles in 2025 and delivering 5 million vehicles annually by 2030.
