[SMM Announcement] Notice on the Suspension of Waste Lead-Acid Battery Price Updates in Shanghai, Fujian, and Sichuan Regions: Dear Users, Greetings! Thank you for your continued attention and support for Shanghai Metals Market (SMM)! In recent years, with changes in the market environment, the trading activity in the waste lead-acid battery markets in Shanghai, Fujian, and Sichuan regions has significantly declined. Due to the shutdown of some smelters and adjustments in related industries, the market trading scale in these regions has continued to shrink, resulting in a substantial increase in the difficulty of price data collection. Meanwhile, due to the reduction in transaction volumes, price fluctuations in these regions can no longer accurately reflect the true supply-demand relationship in the market, and the representativeness of these price points has gradually weakened. After comprehensive evaluation, we believe that continuing to publish these price points not only makes it difficult to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data but may also mislead market participants. Therefore, to ensure that the information we provide has practical reference value for the market, we have decided to suspend updates for a total of 9 price points, including Waste Battery (Shanghai), Waste White Shell (Shanghai), Waste Black Shell (Shanghai), Waste Battery (Fujian), Waste White Shell (Fujian), Waste Black Shell (Fujian), Waste Battery (Sichuan), Waste White Shell (Sichuan), and Waste Black Shell (Sichuan), starting from March 24, 2025.

Dear Users,

Greetings! Thank you for your continued attention and support for Shanghai Metals Market (SMM). In recent years, with changes in the market environment, the market activity of waste lead-acid batteries in Shanghai, Fujian, and Sichuan has significantly declined. Due to the shutdown of some smelters and adjustments in related industries, the market transaction scale in these regions has continued to shrink, making it increasingly difficult to collect price data. At the same time, the reduced transaction volume has caused price fluctuations in these regions to no longer accurately reflect the real supply and demand dynamics of the market, and the representativeness of these price points has gradually weakened.

After comprehensive evaluation, we believe that continuing to publish these regional price points would not only fail to ensure data accuracy and reliability but might also mislead market participants. Therefore, to ensure that the information we provide has practical reference value for the market, we have decided to cease updating a total of nine price points for waste batteries (Shanghai), waste white shells (Shanghai), waste black shells (Shanghai), waste batteries (Fujian), waste white shells (Fujian), waste black shells (Fujian), waste batteries (Sichuan), waste white shells (Sichuan), and waste black shells (Sichuan) starting from March 24, 2025.

We understand that this change may have some impact on your work and decision-making, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. To better meet your needs, we will retain historical price data during the suspension period. Additionally, we have recently added price points for waste lead-acid batteries in Jiangsu, namely waste batteries (Jiangsu), waste white shells (Jiangsu), and waste black shells (Jiangsu). We welcome your attention and feedback. We will continue to optimize price data for other regions and strive to provide more representative and accurate market information. Meanwhile, we will closely monitor market dynamics, and if market activity in the relevant regions recovers, we will promptly reassess and consider resuming the publication of these price points.

If you have any questions about this decision or require further assistance, please feel free to contact us. Best regards!
