Recent Recycling Events Are as Follows:

【Huizhou 50,000 mt Recycling Project Launched】On February 20, Guangdong Hengfuneng Circular Technology Co., Ltd. announced the proposed approval of the environmental impact assessment document for its annual 50,000 mt scrap lithium-ion battery recycling project. The project is expected to build five dismantling lines for scrap lithium battery packs, 80 automatic capacity grading cabinets for lithium batteries, two crushing and dismantling production lines for recycling scrap lithium-ion batteries, and two crushing and screening production lines for recycling waste lithium-ion battery electrodes. It is expected to recycle and process 50,000 mt of scrap lithium-ion batteries annually, including approximately 25,000 mt/year of end-of-life NEV battery packs, 15,000 mt/year of scrap lithium-ion battery cells, 5,000 mt/year of waste cathode sheets, and 5,000 mt/year of waste anode sheets.

 

【Hunan 10,000 mt Lithium Carbonate Project Launched】Recently, the Hengdong Branch of the Hengyang Ecology and Environment Bureau announced the approval decision for Hunan Ziting Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd.'s annual 10,000 mt lithium carbonate project. The total investment of the project is approximately 200 million yuan, with environmental protection investment accounting for 3.09 million yuan, or 1.55% of the total. The project will shift the factory's production from high-purity zinc ingots to lithium carbonate, ceasing the production of high-purity zinc ingots. The lithium carbonate production capacity will be 10,000 mt/year.

 

【Anhui 50,000 mt Lithium Battery Recycling Project Launched】The total investment in the project is 360 million yuan. The project will be constructed in two phases: Phase I will recycle and process 50,000 mt of scrap lithium batteries (partially for cascade utilization) and produce 6,000 mt/year of lithium carbonate and other precursor materials; Phase II will recycle and process 6,000 mt/year of ternary battery black mass, producing 2,500 mt of cobalt sulphate, 4,300 mt of nickel sulphate, 1,600 mt of manganese sulphate, and 1,000 mt of lithium carbonate and other precursor materials.

 

【Chengdu 100,000 mt Battery Recycling Project Launched】On February 18, Chengdu HuanTou Resource Recycling Co., Ltd. announced the first public notice of the environmental impact assessment for its 100,000 mt/year new energy power battery recycling project Phase I. The project will be implemented in two stages: Stage I will construct a 10,000 mt/year dry pre-treatment production line, and Stage II will construct another 10,000 mt/year dry pre-treatment production line. The main product will be battery black mass.

 

【Henan Kaifeng Cascade Utilization Project Launched】This is a new project utilizing the existing idle Plant No. 3 and office building of Kaifeng XinzhiHui Renewable Materials Recycling Co., Ltd. The construction includes one cascade utilization production line for scrap lithium batteries and one battery cell dismantling production line. The cascade utilization production line will dismantle battery packs, and the extracted battery cells will undergo detection. Usable cells will be further assembled into cascade utilization batteries, while unusable cells will be sent to the battery cell dismantling production line for shredding, drying, multi-stage crushing, and sorting, producing ternary battery pole powder, LFP battery pole powder, copper, aluminum, etc., achieving resource recycling of scrap lithium-ion batteries.

 

【Jiangxi Shangrao 40,000 mt Lithium Battery Recycling Project Launched】This project is designed to process 40,000 mt/year of end-of-life lithium batteries. The raw materials include end-of-life LFP battery packs, end-of-life ternary lithium battery packs, LFP battery cells (including aluminum-shell and steel-shell LFP battery cells), and ternary lithium battery cells (including aluminum-shell and steel-shell ternary lithium battery cells). Upon completion and reaching full production, the project will process 40,000 mt/year of end-of-life lithium batteries, producing 4,352 mt/year of cascade utilization batteries (including 705 mt/year of cascade utilization LFP battery packs, 550 mt/year of cascade utilization LFP battery modules, 1,017 mt/year of cascade utilization LFP battery cells, 665 mt/year of cascade utilization ternary lithium battery packs, 490 mt/year of cascade utilization ternary lithium battery modules, and 925 mt/year of cascade utilization ternary lithium battery cells), as well as 19,685.34 mt/year of black mass.
