Green Hydrogen Project Tracking - Heilongjiang Jixian Wind, Storage, Hydrogen, and Methanol Integrated (Chemical Sector) Project

Published: Feb 25, 2025 16:43

I. Project Unit and Investment

  • Project Unit: Shuangyashan Hongzhan Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
  • Total Investment: 2.31 billion yuan

II. Construction Scale and Content

  • Land Area: The project is expected to cover a total area of approximately 254,400 m².
  • Production Scale: The main construction includes a 130,000 mt green methanol production facility and its supporting infrastructure.
  • Main Process: The project uses hydrogen produced by water electrolysis and carbon dioxide gas from fermentation as raw materials to produce green methanol with an annual production capacity of 130,000 mt. The main process production units include carbon dioxide compression and purification, water electrolysis hydrogen production, hydrogen storage and compression units, methanol synthesis and distillation units, as well as auxiliary facilities supporting the production units.

III. Project Progress and Planning

  • Filing Status: On February 24, 2025, the Heilongjiang Jixian Wind-Storage-Hydrogen-Methanol Integration (Chemical Segment) Project completed its filing process.
  • Construction Planning: The project is being constructed according to the established plan and is expected to be completed and put into operation in the near future.

IV. Other Relevant Information

It is worth noting that, in addition to the project by Shuangyashan Hongzhan Biotechnology Co., Ltd., CSSC Wind Power is also developing a Wind-Storage-Hydrogen-Ammonia-Methanol Integration Project in Jixian County. This project, with a total investment of 10.8 billion yuan, is expected to break ground in April 2024 in Jixian County. The CSSC Wind Power Jixian Wind-Storage-Hydrogen-Ammonia-Methanol Integration Project also aims to utilize wind energy resources to produce green hydrogen energy and further produce green methanol and other chemical products. The implementation of these two projects will jointly promote the development of the new energy and chemical industries in Jixian County and Shuangyashan City.

BAIC R&D Unveils High-Performance Sodium-Ion Battery Prototypes with Industry-Leading Specs
SMM learned that BAIC R&D recently announced the successful development of sodium-ion battery prototypes. The first prismatic battery pack using prismatic battery cells achieved an energy density exceeding 170 Wh/kg, placing it in the industry’s top tier. It also supports 4C ultra-fast charging, enabling recharging in 11 minutes. Its temperature-range adaptability and safety performance are outstanding, with stable operation across an ultra-wide range from -40°C to 60°C, energy retention above 92% at -20°C, and no risk of thermal runaway under extreme scenarios. At present, this sodium-ion battery has completed sample finalization, established mass-production processes for prismatic products, and filed 20 patents around core technologies. BAIC has also leveraged this to complete a full technology roadmap covering lithium batteries, solid-state batteries, and sodium-ion batteries, and has mastered a complete set of core sodium-ion battery technologies.
