SMM February 19 News:

Recently, Chilwee Group has been actively advancing technological innovation and market expansion in the sodium-ion battery sector, becoming a focal point of industry attention.

1. Launch of New Sodium-Ion Battery and Technological Breakthroughs

On October 12, 2024, Chilwee Group launched a new generation of sodium-ion batteries featuring composite sodium iron pyrophosphate technology. This technology offers advantages such as long cycle life, strong thermal stability, and high theoretical working voltage, while also excelling in safety, lifespan, and low-temperature resistance. Chilwee's sodium-ion batteries achieve an energy density of up to 140Wh/kg and have passed rigorous safety tests such as extrusion, puncture, overcharge, and over-discharge. They are suitable for various applications, including e-bikes, electric motorcycles, three-wheelers, low-speed vehicles, and ESS.

2. Large-Scale Orders and Strategic Partnerships

Chilwee's sodium-ion batteries have received an enthusiastic market response, with order volumes continuously rising. As of October 29, Chilwee had secured over 10,000 valid orders for sodium-ion batteries. On December 27, Chilwee's wholly-owned subsidiary, Anqing ChaoRen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., entered into a strategic partnership with Shandong Kuailv Technology Development Co., Ltd., with a contract value exceeding 4 billion yuan. This collaboration marks the deep application of Chilwee's sodium-ion batteries in the electric mobility service sector.

3. Capacity Expansion and Industry Chain Layout

Chilwee Group continues to intensify its efforts in the sodium-ion battery sector, planning to invest 5 billion yuan over the next three years to establish a 10GWh fully automated battery cell and PACK production line. Additionally, Chilwee is actively participating in the industry chain layout by investing in sodium-ion battery-related companies such as Anli Energy, Puna Energy, Guoke Tanmei, and Shenzhen Jiana. Recently, Chilwee also announced plans to invest 120 million yuan in Changxing, Huzhou, Zhejiang, to build a 1GWh annual production project for sodium-ion batteries for e-bikes and to construct a 50 mt annual production R&D pilot project for sodium-ion battery hard carbon anode materials in Xiangtan, Hunan.

4. Overseas Market Expansion and Applications

Chilwee's sodium-ion batteries have not only performed strongly in the domestic market but also achieved breakthroughs in overseas markets. Its sodium-ion batteries have been applied in ESS demonstration projects in Beijing, Zhejiang, Shandong, and Tibet, and have been delivered multiple times to overseas markets such as South Africa, with cumulative shipments of over 500 sodium-ion battery packs.

5. Industry Outlook

Chilwee Group's rapid layout and technological breakthroughs in the sodium-ion battery sector have injected new momentum into the light EV and ESS markets. With high safety, long life, and fast charging capabilities, sodium-ion batteries are expected to replace traditional lead-acid and lithium batteries in more application scenarios.

Chilwee Group's sodium-ion battery business not only demonstrates its technological strength in the new energy sector but also sets a new benchmark for the industry. In the future, Chilwee will continue to promote the widespread application of sodium-ion batteries in electric mobility and ESS, contributing to the global transition to green energy.

Cost Push or Supply-Demand Restructuring?—The Real Logic Behind Iron Phosphate Price Increases in April
Iron phosphate negotiations in April were deadlocked, with offers hitting 13,000 yuan/mt. The price surge appeared raw-material driven, but in fact reflected pricing power shifting upstream after a reversal in supply-demand fundamentals. Downstream buyers cited “cost increases” to push back, yet conveniently forgot the upstream losses quietly absorbed over the past three years. This was never about simple cost pass-through—it was a restructuring of profit distribution across the chain.
