Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On February 11, Chinese intelligent automotive equipment provider Miracle Automation Engineering Co., Ltd. (Miracle Automation) announced that it had signed an agreement with Galbot Co., Ltd. (Galbot), a China-based robotics company. Under the agreement, the two parties plan to establish a joint venture to advance the application of embodied intelligent robotics in the automotive sector.

According to the announcement, the joint venture's business scope covers the development of embodied intelligent robots, the R&D of supporting equipment, and sales of integrated solutions in fields like automotive manufacturing, new energy batteries and relevant services.

Under the cooperation, Miracle Automation, based on its resources in automotive and lithium battery industries, will help the joint venture expand its application scenarios and assist in project delivery.

Galbot plans to provide embodied AI models for the joint venture and co-develop large model solutions with Miracle Automation for the automotive manufacturing industry.

Galbot specializes in the R&D of general-purpose multi-modal embodied AI robots, operating R&D centers in Beijing, Shenzhen, and Suzhou. The company has established a joint laboratory on embodied intelligence in collaboration with institutions such as Peking University.

In June 2024, Galbot released its first wheeled bionic robot, the Galbot G1. This robot features a dual-arm structure and is equipped with a "brain" large model that has spatial intelligence and another large model capable of multi-tasking and multi-skill functions.

Founded in 1984, Miracle Automation operates multiple subsidiaries across China, providing products and services in such sectors as automotive manufacturing, smart warehousing, recycling equipment, automotive recycling and dismantling, lithium battery recycling, new energy projects, and heavy industry manufacturing. The company has developed two major industrial clusters: intelligent equipment and lithium battery recycling.

It is worth noting that this cooperation is not Miracle Automation's first foray into the embodied intelligence sector. In June 2023, the company partnered with UBTECH Robotics Corp Ltd. to promote the application of humanoid robots in industrial scenarios. The collaboration has already initiated training projects at multiple new energy vehicle factories of automakers like ZEEKR and BYD.
