Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 21, Inventchip Technology (IVCT), a Chinese silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductors supplier, announced the completion of the first tranche of its Series C financing, which raised for the company nearly 1 billion yuan.

The funds will primarily be used to support R&D of products and techniques, expansion of silicon carbide (SiC) wafer production capacity, and company operations, aiming to further enhance IVCT's product competitiveness and strengthen its wafer supply capabilities.

Founded in 2017, IVCT focuses on developing silicon carbide power semiconductors and relevant chip products. It provides comprehensive SiC application solutions for sectors including new energy vehicles (NEVs), photovoltaics and energy storage, industrial power supplies, and electric vehicle charging piles.

Up until now, IVCT has completed seven funding rounds, securing over 2 billion yuan in total. Its investors include national funds, government investment funds, prominent investment firms, and industrial players such as XPENG, GAC Capital, and BAIC Group Industrial Investment.

Currently, IVCT's SiC power devices and driver chips have been applied on a large scale across multiple fields. In 2024, the company delivered over 16-million-unit SiC MOSFET, 18-million-unit SiC SBD, and nearly 60-million-unit driver chips.

With the first-generation SiC MOSFET launched in 2020, IVCT now has achieved large-scale deliveries of the second-generation aforesaid products.

In 2022, IVCT's automotive-grade SiC wafer factory started operation, marking its strategic transformation from a Fabless company to an IDM (Integrated Device Manufacturer).
