Geely Auto aims to hit 2025 annual sales target with focus on tech innovation, global expansion, multi-energy strategy

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Geely Auto Group ("Geely Autoor "the group") achieved remarkable success in 2024, surpassing its annual sales target with a 32% year-on-year jump. Geely's Galaxy new energy vehicle (NEV) range recorded full-year sales of over 490,000 units, an impressive 80% surge compared to the previous year.

Looking ahead to 2025, Geely Auto has set a bold annual sales target of 2.71 million units, representing a 25% year-on-year jump. CEO Gan Jiayue recently outlined the group's strategy to achieve this goal, focusing on three core areas: product and technology innovation, global market expansion, and diversified energy solutions.

Geely Galaxy targets 1-million-vehicle annual sales in 2025

Geely Auto's Galaxy NEV range aims to achieve annual sales of 1 million vehicles in 2025 by leveraging advancements in architecture technology, full-domain AI for smart vehicles, and intelligent driving systems.

At the upcoming CES 2024, Geely Auto will showcase its AI technology ecosystem across user, R&D, and operational domains. Key innovations include the AI digital chassis, AI-enabled voice assistant, NordThor EM-i Super Hybrid system, Flyme Auto smart cockpit, and advanced intelligent driving technologies, all of which will be applied prominently in its latest vehicle models.

In the field of intelligent driving, Geely Auto plans to introduce a fire new computing platform to speed up the deployment of HD map-free system.

The company added it will launch a new sedan model equipped with the NordThor EM-i Super Hybrid system and release the Flyme Auto 2.0, an upgraded smart cockpit system developed with DreamSmart, offering enhanced interaction and a richer ecosystem of applications.

Geely Galaxy will roll out five new models in 2025, including two SUVs and three sedans, all designed to achieve immediate high-volume sales upon release.

To optimize resource integration, Geely Auto has incorporated the LEVC and RADAR brands into the group, enabling coverage across all vehicle segments, including sedans, SUVs, MPVs, off-road vehicles, and pickups.

Strengthening global presence with premium smart vehicles and improved sales channels, manufacturing facilities

Geely Auto is committed to enhancing its global competitiveness by delivering premium smart vehicles and accelerating the development of its international sales and manufacturing networks.

The e.MAS7, whose prototype is builyt on Geely Galaxy's technologies, was launched in Malaysia last month and quickly became a local bestseller. In 2025, Geely Galaxy's products will enter over 20 countries, including regions in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.

Following the e.MAS7, the Geely Xingyuan will be introduced to PROTON's product lineup, and the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 will also be exported to overseas markets in the second half of 2025.

Moreover, Geely Auto plans to add over 300 sales and service outlets worldwide in 2025, bringing its total global network to more than 1,100 locations. The group will also accelerate localized manufacturing through KD (knock-down) assembly facilities in Indonesia, Vietnam, Central Asia, and Africa, aiming for a 15.6% growth in overseas marketssales in 2025.

Advancing multi-powertrain solutions, enhancing leadership in green methanol field

With 20 years of experience in methanol-powered vehicles, Geely Auto has overcome key technical challenges, such as corrosion, swelling, durability, and cold-start performance. The company holds over 300 standards and patents in methanol technology, with nearly 40,000 methanol-fueled vehicles sold and a cumulative driving distance exceeding 20 billion kilometers.

In 2024, Geely Auto expanded its methanol vehicle deployment to 12 provinces and 40 cities in China, achieving a 130% year-on-year sales spike.

In 2025, the group will introduce its fifth-generation methanol-electric hybrid vehicles to individual consumers in the fourth quarter. These models, available in sedan and SUV variants, can run on methanol, electricity, and gasoline with a flexible fuel mix. Featuring a groundbreaking methanol engine with the world's highest-ever thermal efficiency of 48.15%, these vehicles also incorporate ultra-low-temperature start-up technology, enabling operation in temperatures as low as -35°C.
