Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 9, GAC AION, the new energy vehicle maker under GAC Group, held a delivery ceremony for the HYPTEC SSR all-electric supercar handed over its first overseas owner at the GAC AION EXPRESSWAY RAMINTRA dealership in Bangkok, Thailand, according to a post on HYPTEC's WeChat account.

As the inaugural model under GAC AION's s premium sub-brand HYPTEC, the HYPTEC SSR officially hit the Chinese market on October 9, 2023 with its deliveries beginning at the same time.

The Hyper SSR comes in three variants: the Standard edition, the Sprint high-speed edition, and the Ultimate track edition, with prices ranging from 1.286 million yuan to 1.686 million yuan in China.

In terms of its exterior, being the first model built on the AEP 3.0 platform, the Hyper SSR boasts a sleek and minimalist design with its distinctive two-door, two-seat hardtop configuration. It perfectly embodies the design philosophy of a supercar. The butterfly doors, operated electronically, exude a sense of technology and luxury. The slim front laser headlight assembly showcases intricate internal detailing, and the daytime running lights, which feature a combination of lines and dots, offer outstanding recognition. The laser headlights also provide enhanced illumination.

The Hyper SSR's side profile features smooth lines, with the wheel arches housing Michelin high-performance racing tires sized at 245/35 R20 in the front and 305/30 R20 in the rear. These tires, paired with long-fiber carbon-ceramic brake discs, ensure not only high performance but also exceptional braking capabilities, contributing to excellent handling. The lower sections of the doors are designed with aerodynamic features, further improving the car's aerodynamic properties within the wheel wells.

Inside the cabin, the Hyper SSR follows the minimalist design approach characteristic of supercars. The hexagonal racing-style steering wheel provides excellent grip, and the 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster, along with the 14.6-inch multimedia display, caters to the owner's need for intelligent cabin functionality. The Hyper SSR also features multiple advanced technologies, including an AI trajectory tracking system, Driver First smart cockpit, and a flagship digital coach.

When it comes to power, the Hyper SSR is driven by a two-speed, four-in-one high-performance integrated electric motor system and a 900V electrical architecture, delivering a maximum power output of 1,225 horsepower at 22,000 rpm and a peak torque of 12,000 N·m on the wheels. This power enables the car to achieve a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 1.9 seconds. The vehicle features a full carbon fiber body and an all-aluminum frame, boasting a body torsional stiffness of 50,475 N·m per degree, along with GAC AION's proprietary Magazine Battery system.

GAC AION has rapidly expanded its presence in Thailand, establishing 57 sales channels to date and planning to increase that number to 80 by 2025 to reach more regions across the country. Additionally, the company aims to build 200 charging stations equipped with 1,000 charging piles across 100 cities in Thailand by 2027, providing local users with a seamless and convenient charging experience.
