Beijing (Gasgoo)- At the 2024 Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Summit, Tencent Maps launched its new Intelligent Driving Map 8.0, a cabin-driving integration solution that enhances functionalities and services for both human-driven and autonomous driving modes.

In today’s mixed driving environment, maps play a pivotal role as both a guide for human drivers and as “neurons” for vehicle-driven modes. Tencent’s Intelligent Driving Map 8.0 emphasizes three core aspects: all-in-one service capability, consistent user experience, and integrated iterative capabilities.

For all-in-one services, Tencent Maps aims to provide seamless navigation from outdoor roads to indoor parking spaces. For example, users can effortlessly find parking spots by switching between indoor and outdoor maps. The intelligent driving map also assists users in planning optimal routes based on 19 energy consumption parameters, such as speed, temperature, and slope, along with data from over 180,000 charging stations.

This year, Tencent Maps will complete the construction of 3,000 parking maps covering shopping centers and transportation hubs, along with detailed data on nearby elevators and charging areas, further enhancing the user travel experience.

For autonomous driving, Intelligent Driving Map 8.0 offers lightweight and open data support, enabling rapid iteration and cost-effective upgrades for autonomous driving systems. Tencent Maps provides end-to-end compliant support from data collection to application, significantly improving R&D efficiency and reducing development timelines by at least six months.
